Workshops For Women Religious
Guest House and The Inter-Congregational Addiction Program (ICAP) are co-sponsoring a series of educational workshops called “The Hidden Signs of Addiction.”
They are being directed by Sister Lee Anne Farrell, SSND, Guest House’s Vice President of Women’s Services, and Sister Mary Gene Kinney, BVM, Continuing Care Coordinator for Women's Services at Guest House. Thanks to ICAP’s grants from the Daughters of Charity and Sisters of Charity, BVM, the workshops are being offered at just $25 per day (this includes lunch).
Topics being presented are: recognizing signs of substance or “process” addictions (such as gambling); intervention for a sister caught up in addiction; available treatment modalities and philosophies; the recovery process; and, support for the addicted sister, including support from her religious community.
